Spectra™ Laser Toning for Melasma
ASIAN SKIN! Spectra™ Laser Toning for Melasma (BrownColoring) and Large Pores- Melasma is a common acquired pigmentary disorder among Asian skin. Attempts to treat melasma with lasers and other light sources that target melanin have frequently resulted in irritation, post-inflammatory pigmentation and occasionally, worsening of the melasma, especially in Asians. Spectra™ Laser Toning is an advanced treatment that penetrates and targets melanin in the deep dermis, making it ideal for dermal and epidermal melasma. It is a non-ablative procedure and patients can complete treatments without the use of topical anesthetics and return to their normal daily routines immediately afterwards. Treatments are repeated 5 to 10 times at intervals of between 7 and 10 days until the melasma is no longer visible. Laser peels have replaced acid (chemical) peeling and dermabrasion as the safest, most effective facial resurfacing procedure today.
